A Jet2 flight from London to Spain was forced to divert to France after declaring a mid-flight emergency on Sunday morning.
Flight LS1473 from Stansted to Ibiza made an unscheduled landing in Paris after crew transmitted a squawk 7700 code, known as the signal for a general emergency.
According to FlightAware data, the Boeing 737-800 diverted around an hour and a half into the over two-hour-long journey, landing at Paris Charles de Gaulle at 10.49am local time.
Emergency services at the French airport were positioned on standby to meet the aircraft ahead of its arrival, reported AirLive.
Flight tracking data showed the Boeing turned for Paris while travelling over French airspace before landing safely on runway 27L.
The flight later continued its route to Ibiza, departing at 12.51pm local time and arriving on the Spanish island at 2.33pm.
The nature of the emergency has not yet been confirmed by Jet2. The Independent has contacted Jet2 for comment.
Last month a Hanoi-bound Vietnam Airlines flight was forced to return to Munich airport after experiencing technical difficulties shortly after its departure.
Data from the flight-tracking service Flightradar24 indicated that the Boeing 787 suffered a runway overrun and tail strike during its takeoff from Munich.
The aircraft then circled to jettison fuel weight before making a safe landing back at Munich airport with “significant damage” to its rear fuselage and main landing gear, said Flightradar24.
Footage broadcast by US network ABC News captured the jet taking off with a large dust cloud trailing behind it.
In a statement, Vietnam Airlines confirmed that the flight returned to its departure airport due to a “technical issue”.
Munich airport reported that following the landing, the aircraft was unable to taxi off the north runway under its own power and remained stranded.
