The US has now named six Chinese language AI corporations accused of waging industrial-scale assaults distilling US frontier AI mannequin capabilities and maybe sparing billions in Chinese language growth prices.
In a joint release Tuesday, the Nationwide Safety Company (NSA), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Safety Company (CISA), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) alleged that DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, Alibaba, MiniMax, StepFun, and Z.AI have been attacking US fashions since at the least late 2024. The corporations “doubtless” acted with “Chinese language authorities consciousness” when extracting capabilities from US fashions, together with variants of Claude, GPT, Gemini, and Grok, businesses stated.
