Floodwaters from the Ganga and its tributaries, together with Punpun and Dardha, continued to wreak havoc in Patna and adjoining areas on Sunday, aggravated by heavy rains of their catchment zones in Bihar and neighbouring Jharkhand.

The Ganga crossed its earlier highest flood degree (HFL) at a number of factors within the state capital. Aid operations have been scaled up. The DMD reported 190 neighborhood kitchens working (up from about 80 a day earlier), serving roughly 251,000 meals to this point. Twenty-seven SDRF groups and 10 NDRF groups stay deployed. Medical camps have risen to 171.

In the meantime, Opposition leaders, together with RJD’s Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, have demanded that the floods be declared a nationwide catastrophe.
