NEW DELHI: The National Medical Commission (NMC) will open its online portal for applications for the Eligibility Certificate (EC) for Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) aspirants from 10 am on September 1 to 6 pm on September 30, giving candidates who have not yet obtained the certificate an opportunity to apply.The EC is mandatory for candidates required to appear for the FMGE. The NMC has said candidates without an Eligibility Certificate issued by the commission will not be permitted to apply for the screening test. The next FMGE may be scheduled by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in the coming months.

The NMC, in its public notice and advisory, has advised candidates to carefully verify all details against their original documents before submitting their applications. It has also cautioned candidates against using proxies and advised them to keep their documents ready before beginning the application process.Candidates have been asked to provide an active mobile number so that any deficiency in their application can be communicated promptly. The commission has advised applicants to rectify any deficiency at the earliest to avoid delays in processing.For queries regarding the status of an application, candidates must mention the File Tracking Number generated at the time of submission. The NMC said no response would be sent in the absence of the File Tracking Number.Candidates who have already submitted an application for the Eligibility Certificate to the NMC in the past need not apply again, the commission clarified.
