Punjab tourism minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Thursday mentioned Punjab authorities’s ‘Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra’ scheme has facilitated pilgrimage for five,10,807 devotees to numerous spiritual locations in and out of doors the state.He mentioned the scheme goals to facilitate aged residents who want to go to spiritual locations by offering them free journey and different important amenities.The scheme was launched on November 9, 2025, and in its first part, round 4 lakh pilgrims undertook journeys to Sri Amritsar Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib and Mata Naina Devi, he mentioned.

The scheme was expanded on August 12 to incorporate further spiritual locations akin to Shri Khatu Shyam-Salasar Balaji Dham, Haridwar-Rishikesh and Mathura-Vrindavan, he mentioned.Beneath the expanded scheme, individuals aged 50 years and above are eligible to undertake the pilgrimage.
